For this free festival the park will host 13 different musical performances,
an Arts Fair with original art available from over 25 local artists,
four artist demonstrations, three artist workshops, and even a Kid’s
Art Zone.
Events kick off Friday night, June 27, with free concerts at the
Canyon Inn at 6 p.m. and at the newly renovated Park Amphitheater
at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, June 28, the Nature Center and surrounding outside area
will be full of activity. Enjoy eight more family-friendly concerts
beginning at 11 a.m. and concluding at 10:30 p.m. We are happy to
welcome back the 3rd annual Lunchtime Contradancing Concert featuring
Celtic Myst. A few of the other musicians include: Craig Brenner-
blues; Jenn Cristy Band- high-energy original rock; and Tim Grimm-
acoustic singer/songwriter.
Painting, jewelry, fiber art, stone carving, and natural gourd art
are just a few of the local arts to be celebrated and available for
sale at this year’s Arts Fair on Saturday, June 28 from 10 a.m. to
5 p.m. Arts in the Park concludes Sunday morning with relaxing tunes
from Grey Larsen at 10 a.m. and Curtis Cantwell Jackson at 11 a.m.
at the temporary music stage set up outside the Nature Center.
Arts in the Park - an annual June weekend featuring
various artists, musical groups and crafts.
Bluebird Trail development and maintenance - adding
new bluebird houses, cleaning and monitoring the houses and trail.
Annual wildflower weekend, sale of native plants
- an annual April weekend festival featuring the wildflowers.
Garlic mustard removal - an annual spring day of
removing this invasive species.
Falloween - an annual late October weekend with
lots of family activities.
Peden Farm preservation - maintaining and improving
the remains of the Peden farmstead. The Peden Farm became a part of
the park. The Peden family were direct descendents of the McCormick's
for whom a number of items in the area were named.
