Friends of McCormick's Creek State Park

Members of the Friends of McCormick's Creek State Park group partner with the park to:

  • Support the conservation and enhancement of the natural and cultural resources that are unique to McCormick's Creek State Park.

  • Support interpretation and education which encourage land use ethics and appreciation for the beauty of McCormick's Creek State Park.

  • Support scientific research of the park's resources.

  • Support the design, construction and maintenance of facilities that enhance our visitors' experiences.

  • Generate funding, separate from revenue and legislative appropriations, to be used for conservation of resources, facilities and interpretation.

  • Provide an avenue of volunteer service for McCormick's Creek State Park.

As the oldest state park in Indiana, McCormick's Creek State Park has a rich heritage of both natural and cultural resources. Founded in 1916, the park has been a long time favorite for nature study, recreation, gatherings, and getaways.

Today, McCormick's Creek State Park encompasses over 1,800 acres of parkland, including the beautiful Wolf Cave Nature Preserve. Numerous hiking trails, a nature center, riding stable, Olympic size swimming pool, the Canyon Inn and many other amenities serve the public each year.
